Austin's WearABLE Art sells quality handcrafted beaded jewelry created by Austin Wear. Austin is a young adult with extensive needs autism. We donate a minimum 10% of total sales to organizations that support individuals with disabilities.
We sell beaded jewelry created by Austin Wear. In 2016 by chance, Austin made a beaded bracelet. Immediately he was drawn to this activity that uses creativity, making patterns, and counting.
Making beaded bracelets morphed into a behavior management strategy to help with the challenges of autism and diagnosed OCD. Austin's obsession and subsequent compulsive behavior are primarily counting and making patterns. His jewelry is a productive outlet for those needs. He enjoys creating and is encouraged by the praise he receives and requests for what he makes. It is a fun activity. He especially loves the heaps of praise he gets at table sales. Beading has not only helped him manage anxiety, which triggers severe behaviors, but it has given him purpose and dignity. *
In 2019 Austin's mother founded Austin's WearABLE Art and began selling his products online and directly to customers. Starting with the first sale, 10% of jewelry sales have been donated to non-profit organizations with a mission to enrich the lives of people with disabilities. Packaging and Shipping
Jewelry is carefully packaged in a reusable heavy-duty cotton drawstring pouch printed with our name and logo. Products include a card with jewelry information, details about Austin and our company, and notification of the sales donation to non-profit organizations.
Small gift notes for messages with envelopes (similar to those used by florists) are available at no cost if requested. We will write your message or send it blank. If shopping on Etsy, please include a message with your order.
We charge our cost from a slightly discounted postal provider. We will never add any handling fee. It is rare that we offer free shipping. When customers pay shipping, we can keep our prices low and give more to non-profit organizations. We ship fast! Unless unforeseen conditions arise, two business days is our maximum. Products are typically shipped by Ground USPS unless there is a more affordable option. Insurance, priority, or alternate shipping is available for an extra charge.
Shipping material is most often a padded poly envelope.
